Description of domain/function:
Target Costing @ Procurement (TC@P) is the valued and acknowledged techno-economic competence centre within BuyIn, comprised of a senior engineering team spanning across Electronics & Optics, Network & Mechanics and Software & Virtualization. Your responsibilities
As a Senior Target Costing Manager, you will identify, develop and execute consulting projects along the purchasing lifecycle with the goal of TCO optimization. You are a key catalyst to bring analytical transparency, digitization guidance and ambitious targets to the sourcing journey.
- Lead / Join the transversal cost engineering work-streams on sourcing Software-focused Projects / Products. You will work in cross-functional teams with sourcing, technology and finance and across a variety of technical innovations.
- Evaluate supplier cost drivers as a function of translating requirements into efforts to address CAPEX/OPEX goals
- Bottom-up analysis of specifications within SW projects in Networks (NT), IT and Devices & Platforms (D&P) domains
- Top-down techno-economic benchmarks across deals with the unique ability to normalize deals
- Actively support negotiations by driving target prices / cost models and enable significant negotiation leverage
- Consulting on techno-economic trade-offs in context of BuyIn sourcing and Procurement Alliance partnering projects
- Ideation of cost reduction measures: Cross-functional workshops with suppliers (e.g. performance benefits of AI)
- Research of market trends and supplier roadmaps (e.g. cloud-native, 6G, use of AI LLM models and frameworks)
- Maintenance and further development of cost analysis models (SW Cost Factory) and digitization tools
- Architect of commercial price grids (as part of our digital transformation)
Your profile
You hold a university/master's degree in computer science or equivalent. 8+ years (ICT) industry experience in RnD, Technical Product Management or similar. You have worked in or with SW teams and you can draw conclusions from specification (user story or technical requirements) to effort (development).
- Technical expert knowledge in tangible areas of SW TelCo industry (i.e. NT / IT Software platforms and architectures preferably in VNF / CNF / Network automation), preferable with hands-on experience in (Gen) AI / LLM models
- Understanding the commercials of SW TCOs & financial balance sheets.
- Pro-active, strong team player and consultant-minded with a focus on customer orientation.
- Very good analytical skills and communication/ presentation competences, assertiveness and strength in argumentation. Negotiation experience beneficial.
- High personal engagement in a dynamic environment where you can unfold your creativity.
- Masters advanced Excel skills and able to describe Data models. Personal curiosity in digitization required.
- Strong preference for candidates with skills in Databases (Queries), MS PowerBI, MS Fabric and associated skillset.
- Preferable you have developed an industry network of contacts and existing supplier relationships.
- Fluent Business English, preferable with German language skills (B2)
- French language skills are beneficial.
- You are willing to travel (approx. 20%).
