Description of domain/function:

The Network (NT) procurement domain holds global commercial responsibility supporting the network needs of Deutsche Telekom and Orange, ensuring access to the best technologies and services.

Within the Network Domain’s five technical areas, covering Radio Access Networks, Fixed Access, transport & IP, Core and Control, Managed Services and Passive Infrastructure. FTI (Fixed Access, Transport & IP) category covers the full network chain from end‑user access to core infrastructure. It encompasses Fixed Access technologies that deliver high‑performance connectivity to homes and businesses, Transport solutions such as microwave and WDM systems that provide the scalable, high‑capacity backbone for long‑distance data transmission, and IP equipment like routers and switches that ensure intelligent traffic management across the network.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Strategic Sourcer (m/f) in the FTI team (Fixed Access, Transport & IP) , you will lead procurement projects of higher complexity at corporate and local level as well as the relationship with selected suppliers of bigger size. You drive the implementation of the global category strategy and define/execute project strategies. You are also responsible for the achievement of targets and provide continued support to countries on signed deals during the whole contract duration. This includes the following duties:

• Analyze and manage the countries demands as set out in the Demand Plan Tool

• Lead demand-based RFPs & RFQs from requirements definition to final negotiation and contract signature

• Define/execute cost optimization levers and realization plans, including identification of demand bundling opportunities, consideration of supplier dependency risk and governmental regulations per country

• Support the realization of risk analysis for potential market vendor consolidation (such as Merger and Acquisition) and/or global market crisis (such as the memory crisis) to secure business continuity and risk mitigation from the Procurement side

• Support countries during implementation phases

• Perform active contract controlling and manage change requests for contracts in place

Your profile

• You hold a university degree or an MBA in Procurement, Business Administration, Economics, Business Information Technology or a qualification of the same level.

• Professional experience in procurement of 5+ years minimum

• Experience in procurement, comprising sourcing project coordination, managing customers and stakeholders, supplier management

• Strategic mindset and Strong negotiation skills

• Enthusiasm for Network technologies

• Very good knowledge of telecommunication or network technologies

• Experience in managing customers, stakeholders and suppliers autonomously

• Very good knowledge of contract law

• High ability to structure internal and external communication

• Capacity to work on a multi-cultural and fast-changing environment

• Fluency in English and German, French as a plus

• Willingness to travel
