Description of domain/function:

The Network Technology (NT) procurement domain bears worldwide commercial responsibility for the categories of Radio Access, Infrastructure, Wireline Access and Backhaul Transmission, Core Control & IP Layer, Managed Services, as well as for the corresponding services and is the key sourcing partner for negotiation procurement, frame contract management and implementation of telecom infrastructure. The NT domain supports all affiliates and partners in all their telecom infrastructure as well as innovation projects whilst implementing procurement best practices on well about 4 bn€ spend.

We are looking for a Senior Strategic Sourcer to lead complex, international sourcing projects across Managed Services, TowerCo and Energy Optimization (ESCO) solutions, while addressing additional country-specific requirements and creating sustainable value for our shareholders and operating companies.

Your responsibilities

As a Senior Strategic Sourcer for Managed Services and Energy Optimisation projects, with a focus on renewable and low-carbon energy solutions, you will:

• Lead complex, high-value negotiations for Managed Services, TowerCo and Energy Optimisation solutions, leveraging synergies across procurement domains, shareholder groups and operating companies.

• Analyse, challenge and consolidate country demand, translating business and technical requirements into robust sourcing strategies.

• Lead end-to-end RFx and all strategic negotiations while support countries through supplier selection, contracting and implementation.

• Define and execute cost-optimisation, value-creation and risk-mitigation levers, with clear implementation and benefits-realisation plans.

• Perform active contract and supplier-performance management, including change requests, claims, escalations and continuous-improvement initiatives.

• Identify and deliver cross-group optimisation, standardisation, bundling and innovation opportunities. Contribute to category strategies, market intelligence, benchmarking and the continuous development of procurement best practices.

• Explore and apply AI-enabled solutions to improve sourcing analysis, decision-making and productivity, while ensuring responsible use, data protection, confidentiality, human oversight and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

• Support the achievement of shareholder sustainability targets, particularly through renewable energy, energy efficiency and lower-carbon operating models.

• Share lessons learned and actively contribute to the development of procurement knowledge across the organisation.

Core Capabilities & Skills

• University degree or MBA in Procurement, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Business Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification.

• Proven experience in telecommunications Managed Services and outsourcing deals, TowerCo models, and energy procurement or optimisation projects.

• Sound commercial and technical understanding of telecommunications markets, particularly energy infrastructure, network operations and TowerCo business models.

• Strong ability to build trusted customer relationships, conduct business and financial analysis, and convert complex findings into clear recommendations

• Digital fluency and a strong interest in using AI and software tools effectively, critically and compliantly, including validating outputs and protecting confidential

Your profile

• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in telecommunications, strategic sourcing and/or energy procurement projects.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex sourcing projects and manage customers, senior stakeholders and strategic suppliers across functions and geographies.

• Good knowledge of contract law, commercial risk allocation and procurement governance.

• Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to prepare fact-based strategies, influence decision-makers, manage difficult situations and secure sustainable outcomes without compromising integrity or long-term partnerships.

• Persistent and solution-oriented: able to maintain momentum, constructively challenge obstacles and continue pursuing objectives through complex or prolonged negotiations.

• Positive and collaborative attitude, bringing energy, ownership and pragmatism to multicultural teams and fast-changing environments.

• Curious and committed to continuous learning, with a genuine interest in new technologies, market developments, commercial models and evolving procurement practices.

• Responsible AI mindset: motivated to use AI tools to improve quality, speed and insight while respecting data privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, internal governance and applicable regulation.

• Proficiency in standard office software, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, web browsers, Microsoft Teams and Outlook, combined with the ability to learn internal tools quickly.

• Strong understanding of procurement processes and workflows, with disciplined follow-through and a focus on measurable results.

• Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Languages

• Business fluency in spoken and written English and French, enabling effective collaboration and negotiation in an international environment.

• German language skills are an advantage.
